Hawaiian Day

The girls are having such a great time with Homecoming Week. They have enjoyed dressing up each day. Today is Hawaiian Day because the Trojans are supposed to ride the West Point Green Waves at Friday night's football game. More tomorrow...

Neat Editing Site

I found a neat site for photo editing. It is at http://www.picnik.com/.
I did several things here: border, vignette and added my name.
This is the pencil sketch.
This is posterize.
And this is hypnotic. I did all these versions in just a few quick minutes using a picture I took of myself with my point-n-shoot. Can't wait to see what I can do when I take pictures of the girls with my "big" camera.

200th Post & Camo Day

I can't believe this is my 200th post. I have had so much fun blogging. I wish more friends and family blogged because it is a great way to stay caught up with each other. I am thankful for all the blogging friends I do have. You all are great!
Anyway, today was camo day for Homecoming Week. They had fun posing for me this morning before we left for school. More tomorrow...

This is Homecoming Week at school, so each day will be a different dress up theme. Today was Crazy Sock Day. Anna Kate and Emma loved wearing these cute socks I found at Walmart. More tomorrow...

County Challenge Completed

UPDATE: Tim and I and the girls went to Little Dooey's in Starkville Tuesday night for a geocaching event. Tim was able to sign the log for the final stage of the Mississippi County Challenge. I am so proud of him for completing this challenge. That was quite a feat to travel all over the state and find at least one cache in all 82 counties. Very few people have been able to accomplish this.
Anna Kate was supposed to play softball Saturday, but that clearly wasn't going to happen because of the huge amount of rain we got. So, she and Tim quickly decided to go geocaching. Tim has been working all month to finish the county challenge, which is to find at least one cache in all 82 Mississippi counties. They completed this challenge Saturday by making a run to the Delta.
They found one cache at Jim Henson's museum in Leland. He is the creator of Kermit the Frog.
Anna Kate opens a cache at the site of a battle in Rolling Fork.
They found a cache at this site outside of Rolling Fork. This is where a scene from the movie "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" was filmed.
They found an earth cache in Vicksburg.
They see some of the neatest places while geocaching. This is the Windsor Ruins outside of Port Gibson. These are the columns from the largest antebellum home in Mississippi built in 1861. It burned in 1890.
I am so glad that Anna Kate has this special hobby/sport to share with her dad.

Costume Shopping

The girls had so much fun picking out their Halloween costumes this morning at Walmart. They tried them on when we got home, and they are going to be super cute. I can't wait to take pictures. You can probably figure out who they are going to be from the picture below of them at Walmart, but I will tell you they both are going to be Disney Channel divas, and their costumes include wigs, a wand, and a microphone.

Last of Summer

We enjoyed for the last time this year one of summer's greatest treats -- watermelon. I picked up a watermelon at Walmart Friday night and we enjoyed it this afternoon. Before gobbling it up, we took these pictures.

Emma's cute outfit belonged to my niece Abby.

Now we are ready for fall. We can't wait for our annual visit to the pumpkin patch and getting ready for Halloween.

Good night, sleep tight

While waiting on Tim and Anna Kate to get home from geocaching, I couldn't resist taking a couple of pictures of Emma sleeping.
Isn't she precious?
Sweet dreams.

Grandparents Tea

Emma was so excited that some of her grandparents were coming to her school today for Grandparents Tea.

I took this picture before we left for school. I thought she looked so cute!

Thanks to my SIL Amanda for taking this picture for me of Emma with my mom (AKA Meme) and my grandmother (AKA Big Granny).

Just want to say a word of thanks to the greatest set for grandparents and great-grandparents our two girls could have. These are two very lucky girls to have such wonderful people in their lives. So, thanks to Granny and Granddaddy, Meme and Daddy Bill, Granny Frances, and Big Granny. We love you!

First Fast Pitch Games of the Season

Anna Kate had her first fast pitch softball games of the fall season today. This is her second year to play in New Hope's intramural league for 4th, 5th and 6th graders. She did great and her team did great. They won both games!
Tim is helping coach Anna Kate's team. They are using the pitching machine for the first part of the season, and he ran it for our team today.
Anna Kate hit great today. She hit well every time she got up to bat. We were so proud of her.
She got a couple of good base hits and stole several bases too.
She played second base all day, except her coach put her at pitcher one inning. She did great.
Anna Kate really likes second base. She caught the only pop fly hit to her, and she caught all the balls hit to her on the ground and made plays at first base.

Slip-N-Dip Fun

Our church had its annual back to school bash at Slip-N-Dip last night. This is our kick off for our Wednesday night music and mission classes for our kids. As usual, Anna Kate and Emma had a blast! Emma coming down by herself. She is such a little daredevil.
Then Anna Kate and Emma came down together. Here they are all smiles ready to do it again.
I did get one more picture, but it was getting dark, so this one didn't turn out as good.
