Carving the Pumpkin

The girls had an awesome time carving our pumpkin this afternoon. At least it kept them busy for a little while because they are driving me crazy wanting to know if it is time to get ready for the fall festival tonight.
Here I am drawing the face on the pumpkin that we got at Country Pumpkins a couple of weekends ago.
Tim did the carving -- I'm not ready for them to handle a knife.
Then the fun began.
They loved getting the "guts" out. That's what Emma called it.
And she loved getting her hands nasty.
Finally a cute picture with our finished pumpkin.
But wait! They weren't finished. Then they decided to get silly, and I loved it.
The eyes...
...and the mouth.
One last silly picture.

Anna Kate's First Dance

Anna Kate had her first dance last night. It was actually a birthday party for a couple of her very best friends. She was so excited. She almost drove Tim and I crazy all week talking about it because she couldn't wait to dance with her boyfriend Dylan. Anyway, when I dropped her off at the party, this is what I saw.
When I picked her up, this is what I saw. She was a little chatterbox the entire drive home. Needless to say, she had a great time.

Our Garage Find!

I was not happy to find this snake in our garage last night. By the way, Anna Kate was the one who spotted it. Proud of her! It was just a very small pine snake, but still. Anyway, my wonderful outdoorsy husband took care of it while the girls and I watched through the back door. Yuck!

Ready for Fall Festival

When we got to church tonight, this fall scene is what we found. Of course, I couldn't resist a few quick photos, and the girls were happy to oblige. These decorations are just the first of many preparations that will need to be made for this weekend's fall festival. My kids are so excited about the festival. I sure hope the weather cooperates.

Dance Camp

Emma had a great time this week participating in the school's Dance XPress Mini Dance XPressions Camp. They performed tonight at a pizza supper.
The whole group -- both the little dancers and the varsity and junior varsity dancers. Emma is sitting on the bottom row, second from the left.
This is her "big sister" Kayla who helped her learn the dance.
They danced to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" therefore the glove.
Here they are dancing. It's kinda hard to see her, but she is right in the middle. She did a great job.
Because they danced to "Thriller," they had a bunch of tomb stones set around the floor.
Way to go Emma! We are proud of you.

Neat Artwork Fundraiser

The elementary school PTO did the neatest fundraiser this fall. Each child did their own original artwork. Then a special company took the artwork and made them into stickers. Each child got a sheet of stickers of their artwork for free. We also have the option to order other gifts with their artwork on it. They had many things to choose from, but we chose keychains.

Fall Field of Flowers

I love flowers, so I couldn't resist stopping for quick photo shoot at this field this afternoon. The girls did GREAT for me. I just love their sweet smiles.

Pumpkin Patch

We had an awesome time at Country Pumpkins Sunday afternoon. The weather was perfect. It was so nice to have a sun-shiny day to do something fun. The girls had a great time doing all the activities, especially the hay ride, and then they picked out several pumpkins. We plan to carve our big one later in the month. We also visited another pumpkin patch in the area that was real neat.
