Anna Kate's Last Tournament

This past weekend was Anna Kate's travel team's last tournament of the summer. It was the USSSA World Tournament in Tupelo. They finished tied for seventh. I think Anna Kate's team played in eight tournaments this summer -- six fast pitch and the last two slow pitch. With Emma playing now too, our girls played in tournaments seven weekends in a row. It was a lot of fun, but we are tired. But no time for rest! Anna Kate has been participating in New Hope Softball's 2A Days this week in preparation for the fall slow pitch season. The first games are in three weeks.
Anna Kate pitched all six games they played this past weekend and did a great job!
She made a bunch of great defensive plays too.
Anna Kate was the lead-off batter and a did a really good job. I was proud of all the hits she got.

Public Profession

Emma invited Jesus into her heart a couple of weeks ago at Children's Camp. This morning at church she made her public profession of faith and joined the church. Another special moment for her!

Emma's Tournament

Emma was selected to be on the New Hope all star coach pitch team called the Shockers. Tim and I help coach. We have played several practice games and today was our first and only tournament. We didn't do as well as we had hoped, but we were pleased overall with the experience.

Emma got many good hits today. We were very proud of her.
Tim did all the pitching for the team and did an excellent job.

Emma played right center all day and great a good job.

Another Tournament

Anna Kate's tournament team, Southern Blitz, played this past weekend in the ASA State Tournament. It was their fifth tournament in a row and their seventh for the season, but it was their first slow pitch tournament. All the others have been fast pitch. We didn't play as well as we wanted, but we are hopeful that with a few more practices we will be ready for the USSSA World Tournament in a couple weeks.
Anna Kate did all the pitching for the tournament, and did an excellent job. We were so proud of her.
She also made many defensive plays.

She hit well too. My favorite hit was a hard line drive down the first base line into right field for a double.

Children's Camp

Emma attended our church's children's camp last week. She had an awesome time.
The theme was Space Camp. I took this picture before she got on the bus.
While she was at camp, Emma invited Jesus into her heart and received this Bible. She is so excited about her decision, and we are super excited for her. Such a special time in her life.
