Church Choir Programs

Anna Kate and Emma both had their church choir performances last night. They did a great job!
Emma's choir did a bunch of praise songs, and their leaders asked them to all wear sports uniforms. Emma thought this was great.
They had fun waving these flags.
Anna Kate's choir did a patriotic theme since it is close to Memorial Day.
She had a major speaking part.
She also had a solo.

So proud of our girls. I can't believe this was Anna Kate's last performance in Children's Choir. She will be in youth choir this fall, and this was Emma's last performance in Mission Friends. She will be in Children's Choir.

20th Class Reunion

Tim had his 20th high school class reunion. We had a great time seeing some people we haven't seen in a long time.

Swim Party

We had a busy weekend. Tons to do. One of those things is Emma enjoyed a swim birthday party for one of her friends. She had a ball. While Emma was at the party, Tim and Anna Kate went to CAFB's air show and had a great time.

Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day yesterday.
Here is a picture of me with our sweet girls. It was taken on our way to church. Don't they look cute? I especially love the dress Emma has on.
Notice anything similar about this picture of the three of us compared to the one above? You guessed it -- it's the same rose bush, and Anna Kate has on the same blue dress in this 2005 picture that Emma has on in the picture made yesterday.
Yes, this is the same dress again, but it's me! This picture was taken in 1979. I was six years old. I am so glad my mother thought to save this sweet dress for me so that our girls could wear it. I think that it is pretty neat that our girls each wore my dress on their 6th Mother's Day.

Softball Competition Award

Anna Kate participated in the park's Pitch, Hit and Run Softball/Baseball Competition this morning. She finished second in the hitting section, and finished third overall. We were very proud of her, especially considering they made her compete with 11- and 12-year-olds. She won't be 11 until later this month.

Another Pitcher

On Emma's t-ball team, the players are taking a turn playing pitcher for one inning. They all want to play there because that's where most of the balls are hit. Emma had her chance to play there this past week, and she was super excited. Not only would she get a chance at a lot of balls, but she also would get to play the position that her big sister plays in the slow pitch league. Emma caught a bunch of balls and did super. We were so proud of her.

GA Badges

Our church had its annual GA and RA Mission Recognition Ceremony last night. Anna Kate earned 19 badges this year. We are so proud of her, but it is kind of sad too. This is her last year in GAs. She will promote to the youth this fall since she will be in middle school.

Picking Flowers

Teacher Appreciation Week continues. Today they were supposed to bring flowers to their teachers. We saw some students walking in to school this morning with bouquets of flowers purchased from florist shops, but our girls had fun picking wildflowers from our yard. So sweet!

Apples for Teachers

This is Teacher Appreciation Week at school. Each student was asked to bring a piece of fruit to school for his or her teacher. Our girls were excited to take apples to school today.

My Cowboy and Cowgirl

This weekend is the 10th anniversary of geocaching. Tim and Anna Kate are attending an event in Starkville, and they were all asked to dress up like cowboys and cowgirls. Just had to take a picture!
