North State Champions

New Hope Lady Trojan Fast Pitch Team is the North State Champion. We played the first of a 3-game series at Lake Cormorant last Thursday and lost by one run in extra innings. The second game was played Saturday. Tied at the end of six innings, that game was suspended due to bad weather. We picked back up in the sixth inning Monday night. We won by one run in extra innings. That forced a third game, which we also won by one run. Monday night's games were thriller ball games. We are so excited to have advanced to the State Championship series which will be played this weekend. We will play Wayne County.
Praying with their opponent after Monday's games.
Team huddle after the win.

One of the parents made this gator. Lake Cormorant is the Gators.

Mother's Day

Weekend Stuff

Here are some pictures from the weekend.
Emma had Awards Day on Friday. She got two awards -- one for being on the Superintendent's List all year and another for having the third highest average in her class. This is a picture of her with her teacher, Ms. Hardy.
Emma gave me a potted plant for Mother's Day. She did this in school Friday. I love you, Emma!
Emma's team won Friday night, and she got to play pitcher for part of the game.
Anna Kate made me this card with the sweetest note on the inside. It is definitely something I will treasure because of the message inside. I love you, Anna Kate!
The Children's Choir at church had its spring program Sunday night. Emma had both a solo and a speaking part. She did great!

I didn't get any pictures from Saturday's softball game. New Hope was playing a North State game and it got called because of bad weather after five innings. We hopefully will be able to complete that game Monday night.

Anna Kate's Ring

Anna Kate and her teammates finally got their state championship rings from the slow pitch season. She is so proud of this ring. This was New Hope's fifth straight championship, 11 out of the last 12 years, and 14 total since Mississippi started state championships for slow pitch softball in 1988. New Hope is currently in the playoffs for a fast pitch softball state championship. It would be New Hope's first in fast pitch. We would love for Anna Kate to be a part of the New Hope team to win both a slow pitch and a fast pitch state championship in one year. Hopefully they will win and each earn another ring. Since she is only a seventh grader, Anna Kate has the opportunity to earn 12 rings between slow pitch and fast pitch softball. Oh, there's soccer too.

Emma's Game

Emma's doing a great job playing coach pitch this year. Tim is the head coach and is doing all the pitching.

Emma's Eggs

This nest of eggs was abandoned at my parents' house, so Emma took it to school for show-and-tell.

Anna Kate Goes to the Middle School Prom

Anna Kate attended New Hope's Middle School Prom tonight. Unfortunately, her boyfriend Trevor was not able to attend because he was out of town playing in a baseball tournament. We worked all afternoon on nails, hair and makeup. Fun mother/daughter stuff. So proud of how pretty our girl looks!

W5K

This weekend is Homecoming at Mississippi University for Women. I work there, and I'm also a graduate of MUW. One of the weekend's activities was a 5K. Tim and Anna Kate participated while Emma and I cheered them on. They both finished third place in their age bracket. So proud of them both, especially since this was the first race for both of them.

Emma's First Coach Pitch Game

Emma had her first coach pitch game Monday night. Her team won 16-7. It was a great first game. Tim and I are the coaches for her team, so I wasn't able to take any action shots during the game, so here are a couple from after it was over. Emma did a great job getting a hit and playing third base. Way to go Emma!

Another Softball Photo of Anna Kate

There's our baby playing second base for New Hope's junior varsity team. This past week she made the first two outs of a triple play. Go Anna Kate!
