First Lost Tooth

Emma finally (at the age of 6 1/2) lost her first tooth last night with a little help from her daddy. It has been loose for a couple of weeks, so it didn't take much.

Here she is showing off the gap in her teeth and her first lost tooth in our special Tooth Fairy box. My sweet grandmother gave this little painted wooden box to us when Anna Kate was little. Each tooth Anna Kate lost and now this one that Emma lost were put in this box by their beds for the Tooth Fairy to take and then leave them money.

I wish I had a video of Emma immediately after she lost her tooth. She was so excited to have finally lost her first tooth. She was so proud and couldn't wait to get to school today to show everyone.

First Day of School

The girls had their first day of school for the 2010-11 school year.

It was a big day for Anna Kate. She is now a middle school student. She said it went well.

Emma had a great day too.

Welcome Stella

We are so excited to welcome Stella Faye Smith into the world today. She is the beautiful daughter of Tim's sister Samantha and her husband Brandon. And let's don't forget big brother Hunter. Anna Kate and Emma were super excited to meet their new baby cousin. That makes seven grandchildren for Tim's parents -- five girls and two boys. Welcome Stella. We already love you!

School Open House

Both of the girls had their school open houses tonight. Anna Kate will start the 6th grade tomorrow (that's middle school), and Emma will be in 1st grade. Emma was all smiles meeting her teacher and seeing her classroom. Anna Kate is both excited and nervous. Going to middle school is a big change -- seven different classes with seven different teachers in seven different classrooms and she has a locker. She practiced opening it several times tonight. I know she is going to do great! They both are.

Finally!

Anna Kate finally has lost another tooth. It has been forever since she has lost one. The dentist actually pulled this one. It was super loose, and he just helped it along. He says she has a bunch more loose ones, so the next few months should be fun.

More Ball

It seems like we just finished the slow pitch softball season. That's because we did! Now it's time to start preparing for the fast pitch season. Anna Kate will be playing in the intramural league at school for 4th-6th graders and she has been selected to be on another tournament team.

Tim and Anna Kate already have been practicing in the back yard with the pitching machine. It has been such a hot week for practicing, but Anna Kate has such a good attitude about it. She loves softball!
