Cheer Camp

Emma participated in Cheer Camp all week at school. She had tons of fun learning the cheers and being with the high school cheerleaders.

They got to perform all the cheers and jumps they learned at the high school football game last night.

A bunch of her friends participated. Two of her cousins -- Abby and Natalie -- also participated.
After they did all their cheers, then they got to participate in the cheer line for the football players to run through the sign. There were fireworks too. It was a great night for Emma, and a great night for the Trojans -- we won!

Logging Show

Tim was asked by John Deere to participate in Friday's session of the 2010 Mid-South Forestry Equipment Show, the longest running live logging venue in the nation.
He was asked to run the John Deere processor, a very high-tech and expensive piece of equipment. Tim's logging crew is the only logging crew in the state of Mississippi that actually owns one of these machines. Tim's brother Kevin actually runs this machine for the crew, but he was not able to attend the show.

Here's Tim with Bobby Goodson, the star of Discovery Channel's "Swap Loggers." It was real neat for Tim to get to meet him.

More Fast Pitch

It was another day at the ballpark. That seems to be where we spend all our time these days. That's okay because we love. Anna Kate's team won both games, so that was fun.
Here's Anna Kate getting one of many hits.
She hit great today.
She also did a great job defensively.

Science Project

I meant to post this a couple of weeks ago. Just running behind. Anyway, Anna Kate had to do a science project in that she had to build a plant cell out of a shoe box. I thought she did a great job.

Fast Pitch Softball

This was opening weekend for New Hope's fast pitch intramural league for 4th-6th grade girls. This is Anna Kate's last year to play in the this league, and it has been a great learning experience for her. She is on the gray team. Unfortunately, they lost both games on Saturday, but they won one and lost one today. All three losses this weekend were so close.
She played second base and did an excellent job. She had tons of balls hit to her and handled them all, including catching a line drive and then touching second base for the double play to end the game that we won today. This is a picture of her making a throw to first for an out after she had caught the ground ball.
Here are some more pictures of her making great defensive plays.
She also hit great. I am so proud of how easily she has adapted to fast pitch from playing slow pitch all summer.

A few more shots: Anna Kate attempting to steal second base while Tim is coaching first base, Emma wearing Anna Kate's Jr. Lady Trojan shirt from last year and being her big sissy's biggest cheerleader, and Anna Kate bunting.

Slip-N-Dip Fun

The girls and I went to our church's annual Fall Kickoff at Slip-n-Dip. It was a lot of fun.
