This was opening weekend for New Hope's fast pitch intramural league for 4th-6th grade girls. This is Anna Kate's last year to play in the this league, and it has been a great learning experience for her. She is on the gray team. Unfortunately, they lost both games on Saturday, but they won one and lost one today. All three losses this weekend were so close.
She played second base and did an excellent job. She had tons of balls hit to her and handled them all, including catching a line drive and then touching second base for the double play to end the game that we won today. This is a picture of her making a throw to first for an out after she had caught the ground ball.
Here are some more pictures of her making great defensive plays.
She also hit great. I am so proud of how easily she has adapted to fast pitch from playing slow pitch all summer.
A few more shots: Anna Kate attempting to steal second base while Tim is coaching first base, Emma wearing Anna Kate's Jr. Lady Trojan shirt from last year and being her big sissy's biggest cheerleader, and Anna Kate bunting.
