Vacation to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge

We had a great time on our vacation to the mountains. On our way to Gatlinburg, we stopped off in Friendsville, TN, for one night to visit with my Aunt Elise and family. Anna Kate and Emma had a great time visiting with their cousin Riley. On to Gatlinburg. The girls loved the drive. They were amazed at the grandness of the mountains. It was a great vacation. We had a blast.
The views of the mountains were breathtaking. Isn't God amazing?
One day we took a hike to Clingman's Dome, which is the highest point in the Smokies. It was a beautiful drive. The hike was a 1/2 mile on asphalt. We pushed Emma in a stroller because I am sure she couldn't have walked it. It was quite a push up in the stroller, but we made it. It was so beautiful up there. We were literally up in the clouds. The temperature was very cool. Very neat experience for us.
The girls loved the water. We stopped one day while driving through the Smokies and took this picture.
The Aquarium was awesome! We saw everything imaginable. The girls got to touch crabs and sting rays. Well, Emma almost touched the sting ray, but her arm just wasn't long enough. Walking through the tunnel with sharks swimming overhead was neat.

Our first night there we drove into Pigeon Forge and played miniature golf. We had a blast. I think this was actually the girls' favorite activity.

Here are a few more pictures I took while we were out exploring and shopping in Gatlinburg.

We truly had a great time in the mountains and are planning a return trip next summer. So much still to do that we haven't done yet. Until next year.
